Ouch, that's a painful divorce to be sure.

Sometimes you need to make a decision: Which is more painful, the divorce or the marriage? Unfortunate that things ever get that bad.

well, Its been enough years for the smart of loosing all of that to pass. worse was the 2200 points of old school LotD with converted vehicles that where in the same box. (as well as the packaging from the 14th bfg boxed set released)

but if I can ever find another BFG group, you can bet your blood drenched axe I'll start a new fleet. BFG is by far my favorite GW game, and unly suffered IMO due to a lack of player-base. I was big on boarding actions and raming lots of fun there. there is also a sheer awesome factor when a warp engine goes boom, and knocks several squadrons of escorts out.

and the models... just awesome...

I totally agree with you. BFG is probably my favorite game too. I'm happy that I have one friend that still plays the game so we get together as often as RL lets us. BFG has to be one of the best games that GW ever produced right from the beginning. The rules are simple enough to learn quickly and the game covers so much as to be a blast. I've played several other space ship battle games and none of them have been as much fun as BFG.

and the models, while simple enough to be painted quickly, had great depth of detail.

my one (and only one) beef was a lack of options for ships. I think a bit more customization (more than a mark/captain/prowgun-swap) would have added to the draw, and helped BFG a great deal.

Damn. now I want to start a BFG fleet for no good reason, and with so many other projects... *sigh*

If your interested in custom work then look up this site, warp rift ( just google it since I dont remember the full address)
they have some great alternative rules and some spectacular modles.

As for my self. Ive kept my self busy latly with my own custom work. heres a spys look at whats comming out of the Tau empire.

I have some crusade era ships in mind that may beworked on in the comming months, you can see the upper section of one hull in hte back ground.
In the foreground I have 2 support carriers prototyes under construction. That pic was taken last night.
Details of what im doing are posted on Tau online in the other gw games section under Tau experimental ships.
Or on Battlefleet fury site. ( the fury site is really dead so not much in the way of replies or even looks.)

Oh yes, look just behind the 2 forground ships, Ive given you a sneak peak at mould for mantas and baracudas.

I've always considered playing BFG. whats the standard points value on a game? 2000?

It all depends on how much time you have to play. 2000 is a standard large game that can take you an afternoon to play. If you just have a couple of hours a 1000 point game still allows you a good selection.

I think it's one of GW's best game systems. You can download the rules for free, check it out.
